About
Coworking for Corporations
Posted December 26th, 2008 by brianToday I'd like to announce the Corporate Coworker package. Its $300 a month for four people. Basically its a Part Time Coworker for groups of people who all work at the same company. Plus this group can use Conference Room B for three hours a month at no extra charge.
So if you work at a office and have the ability to work away from it once in a while ask your boss to purchase one of these. You can share it with your colleagues and even use it together. Get a productivity boost by changing your atmosphere.
Here are a few points to help you pitch it to your company:
- If you live near CCC short commutes save gas and is better for the environment.
- Finding a new space to meet and collaborate will help you get more done.
- Lots of talented people at CCC who could be your next star employee/consultant.
- Find the next paying project for your company by doing some networking.
- Cheap conference room time with high end presentation gear.
New Print Materials
Posted December 23rd, 2008 by brianIn one of my past work lives I was a print designer. I still enjoy it but don't have time to do it very much. So recently I was asked by our local Chamber of Commerce for some print material for CCC. That way they could hand it to someone when telling them about us. Yes all you techies folks, people still want stuff on paper. Big thanks to everyone who helped me edit it and provided feedback. Please download it and share it with someone.

Better Driving Instructions
Posted October 24th, 2008 by brianSeveral people have told me that Google Map directions to CCC from Raleigh have sent folks down South Rd through UNC's campus. During the week, especially after 5pm, campus roads can be very congested. So I wrote some modified directions and put them on the about page. Here they are:
Driving Directions to CCC from Raleigh
(These are better than Google's. It takes you around the UNC campus instead of through it.)
- Take I-40 West towards Durham/Chapel Hill
- Take Exit 273A for Hwy 54 W towards Chapel Hill
- Take the ramp to N Fordham Blvd / US-15/501
- Exit towards Merritt Mill Rd
- Turn Right at Merritt Mill Rd
- Turn left at E Main St
- Turn Right at Lloyd St
- CCC is in the brick building on the left. 205 Lloyd Street, Suite 101, Carrboro, North Carolina
More Art
Posted October 19th, 2008 by brianToday Abby came by and brought some photos. We hung six of them up. Its wonderful to have more cool art on the walls. The work is stellar and for sale. One hundred percent of the sales of these photos will go to the artist. Can't wait to have the opening party so you can see it all up close. I hope it inspires people and puts them in the mood to create.

This pic is by Abbyladdybug. Check out all her other amazing photos on Flickr.
Unit Structures endorses CCC
Posted October 13th, 2008 by brianFred Stuzman, over on his blog Unit Structures, has written a very flattering bog post about CCC. It means more to me than Dean Smith Endorsing Obama. :)
Here's a taste:
Brian has done a wonderful job in getting the place up and running. He’s got an absolutely professional setup, great comfy chairs, and the Coworking office is in 2-minute-walk proximity to Weaver Street Market and all of downtown Carrboro. I was really impressed - and I look forward to working from CCC (looking like Thursdays might be my coworking days).
Art Goes on the Walls
Posted October 10th, 2008 by brianOne of my goals in building CCC has been to make it a fun, funky, and creative atmosphere. So I've been gathering art to put on the walls to provide joy and inspiration. Here is a pic of a great piece of art by Paul Friedrich near the coffee machine. A wonderful present from great friends.

Another big painting is already up and viewable on Flickr. Check it out! Much more work to come.
News of the First Day
Posted October 6th, 2008 by brianI slept really well last night. That tells me that I’m on top of things. If I’d left anything serious undone I’d be much more anxious. People kept on asking me this morning if I’m excited and how I feel. I had to respond that I feel very good but relaxed. I do have a ton of energy today but it’s being put to work.
The big news is all Offices and desks are sold. We now have waiting lists. Every Full Time Coworker and Office Coworker space is full! An amazing thing considering we’ve only been open one day.

Posted October 3rd, 2008 by brianWe have a Business License! I received it just thirty minutes ago. That means we can open officially this Monday October 6, 2008. Our initial business hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Opening party details to come. See you soon!
Startup Profile from the NC Startup Blog
Posted October 1st, 2008 by brianMarc Dewalle from the NC Startup Blog interviewed me via email about CCC. Its awesome that folks are blogging about startups here. I'm excited that there are so many smart young folks building things in the Triangle. Soon these folks will have a home built just for them. :) Hope you enjoy the post Startup Profile: Carrboro Creative Coworking.
Now You've Heard of Us
Posted September 29th, 2008 by brianRobarn Danzman of Aberdium Consulting gave CCC a shout over at the Aberdium Small Business thoughts blog.
"Carrboro Creative Coworking - You are a start-up or entrepreneur in need of getting out of your house (or away from the fridge). Other than the caffeine-soaked lounge down the street, why not hook up with like-minded folks facing the same issues? Look no further than the Carrboro Creative Coworking. It's cool, trendy space we all need at some point with a variety of prices for all budgets. It's loaded with events, technology, and smiling faces ready to welcome the next big idea. Bring it on!"
Thanks for the props and link!
